Software Engineer, Low-Latency Trading Systems

About the opportunity

Talent Hunter is hiring a Software Engineer on behalf of our client, a proprietary trading company operating in the cryptocurrency and financial markets. The company develops its technology in-house, with a strong focus on high-performance, low-latency systems, real-time market data, and reliable trading infrastructure.

We are looking for a strong Software Engineer who enjoys solving technically challenging problems where performance, reliability, and precision are critical.

The role

You will work on the infrastructure responsible for receiving, processing, and delivering real-time market data to trading and research systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and maintaining real-time market data feed handlers
• Working with exchange connectivity and different market data protocols
• Handling sequencing, gap detection, recovery, reconnects, and out-of-order data
• Working with real-time blockchain and DeFi data
• Designing and optimizing low-latency systems
• Working with CPU/cache-aware data structures, NUMA, hardware timestamps, and kernel-level optimizations
• Building data capture, archival, and replay infrastructure
• Implementing mechanisms to identify data quality issues, stale feeds, sequence anomalies, and other inconsistencies
• Measuring and improving system performance, with a strong focus on tail latency

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience with high-throughput and/or low-latency systems
• Strong understanding of resilient systems and failure handling
• Deep experience with Rust or modern C++
• Strong knowledge of Linux internals and networking
• Experience analyzing network traffic and packet captures
• Experience optimizing system performance based on measurable results
• Strong problem-solving skills and technical curiosity
• Fluent English

Nice to have

• Experience with financial market data or exchange protocols such as FIX, SBE/MDP3 or ITCH-style protocols
• Experience with blockchain data or infrastructure
• Knowledge of DeFi and AMM systems
• Experience with prediction markets
• Previous experience in HFT, trading, market data, or other real-time systems
