Senior Manual QA Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLEIn this role, you will work as a Senior Manual QA Engineer on large-scale corporate systems supporting grants and expert management within a European public-sector environment.

You will focus on functional, regression, integration, UAT, and end-to-end testing, working closely with Business Analysts and development teams to validate complex business processes and interconnected systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define test plans, test cases, scenarios, scope, and priorities
• Review user stories and acceptance criteria, validating business logic, dependencies, and edge cases
• Prepare and manage complex test data
• Apply exploratory testing, equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, and other test design techniques
• Perform functional, regression, integration, UAT, and end-to-end testing
• Validate complete submission lifecycles and cross-system data consistency
• Track TEST, INT, and PREPROD environments, deployments, availability, and downtime
• Capture test evidence, logs, screenshots, and results
• Create, prioritize, and track defects with full traceability in Jira
• Analyze application logs and backend data to investigate issues
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, developers, and support teams

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree corresponding to EQF Level 7, typically a Master’s degree or equivalent
• 10+ years of professional IT experience
• Strong knowledge of manual software testing principles and test design techniques
• Hands-on experience with functional, regression, integration, UAT, and end-to-end testing
• Strong experience working with user stories and acceptance criteria
• Experience with exploratory testing, equivalence partitioning, and boundary value analysis
• Experience with Jira and Zephyr for test and defect management
• API testing experience with SoapUI
• Strong SQL skills using Oracle SQL Developer for test data preparation and backend validation
• Experience working with XML and structured data using XML Notepad, Notepad++, or similar tools
• Experience with log analysis using Kibana
• Experience with JMeter for performance testing
• Basic Selenium knowledge for test execution/support
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with ChatGPT or other Generative AI tools for test case optimization
• Knowledge of grant and audit business processes will be a strong advantage
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher; French will be a plus
