Senior QA Engineer

We’re a young, fast-growing company building everything ourselves: game engines, our Remote Game Server (RGS), back-office tooling and our testing frameworks. Role Overview

– We’re looking for a Senior QA Engineer to own quality across our Core team. This is a hands-on senior role that covers our whole product:

– The games: canvas-based slot games built with PixiJS.

– The platform: our RGS (game sessions, rounds, wallet transactions, RNG, jackpots, bonuses), our Backoffice (operator, site and game configuration) and our integrations with casino operators.

– You’ll set the test strategy, build and scale our automation, and work closely with game, frontend and backend engineers.

– Together you’ll make sure that real-money gameplay works correctly, safely and reliably, from the reels down to the ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

– Own the test strategy and quality standards across games, the RGS and the Backoffice, and decide what to test, at which layer, and how;

– Design, build and maintain test automation frameworks for UI, API and integration testing, including end-to-end tests that run across the whole platform;

– Test the RGS end to end: game launch and sessions, spins and round lifecycles, wallet debit/credit flows, rollbacks and refunds, jackpots, free spins and bonus features;

– Check financial correctness and data integrity: balances, transaction idempotency, retries, timeouts, and reconciliation between the RGS and operator wallets;

– Test operator integrations and API contracts, including seamless wallet flows, error handling and edge cases;

– Test Backoffice features end to end, from configuration in the admin UI to its effect on live gameplay in the RGS;

– Test PixiJS-based slot games, covering functional, visual-regression, canvas-interaction and cross-device/browser testing;

– Check game math and outcomes against specifications, including RTP, paytables, feature triggers and RNG-driven behaviour, working with our math/simulation tooling;

– Plan and run performance, load and resilience testing for backend services (concurrency, peak traffic, degraded dependencies) and for games in the browser;

Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep them fast, stable and trustworthy;

– Join design and refinement early: review stories and acceptance criteria, flag risks, and push for testable architecture;

– Prepare for and support compliance and certification testing with test labs for regulated markets;

– Track and report quality metrics (defect trends, coverage, escaped defects, release readiness), and decide go/no-go on releases;

– Mentor other QA engineers and developers on testing practices, and help shape how the QA function grows.

Must-Have:

– 5+ years of QA experience, with a strong focus on test automation;

– Proven experience testing both frontend applications and backend/distributed systems;

– Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript for writing test code and tooling;

– Hands-on expertise with modern automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress or similar) and API testing tools/frameworks;

– Solid experience with API, integration and contract testing of REST and real-time (WebSocket) services;

– A good grasp of backend fundamentals: SQL and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL), caching, message queues/event driven systems, and how to debug through logs and data;

– Experience testing transactional or financial systems, where correctness, idempotency and auditability matter;

– Experience designing test strategies for complex products, not only running them;

– Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins);

– Comfortable using browser DevTools for debugging and performance analysis;

– Strong analytical skills, a sharp eye for edge cases, and clear written communication;

– Startup mindset: hands-on, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and happy to take ownership.

Nice-to-Have:

– iGaming experience, especially with RGS platforms, operator/seamless wallet integrations or casino back-office systems;

– Knowledge of slot game mechanics, RTP/volatility and game math validation;

– Experience testing canvas-based games (PixiJS or similar), including WebGL and canvas interaction automation;

– Experience with visual regression testing tools;

– Experience with performance and load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Gatling, Lighthouse);

– Knowledge of the Node.js/NestJS ecosystem, microservices, NATS or Redis;

– Experience with GLI, BMM, iTech Labs or similar certification processes, or with compliance testing in other regulated industries;

– Previous experience building a QA function in a startup or fast-growing company.
