We’re looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to help shape the future of our platform. In this role, you’ll work on complex backend systems, APIs, and business-critical applications alongside experienced engineers, contributing to architectural decisions and building software that delivers real value to customers.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and web applications.
• Build new platform features, integrations, and APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following modern engineering practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning.
• Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, backend developers, and product stakeholders.
• Contribute to the ongoing modernization and continuous improvement of our technology stack.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional PHP development experience.
• Strong expertise in modern PHP application development and software design principles.
• Solid knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern web technologies.
• Strong experience with MariaDB/MySQL, including query optimization and database performance tuning.
• Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments, including Bash scripting.
• Experience building and optimizing scalable, high-performance web applications.
• Ability to perform thoughtful code reviews and contribute to architectural improvements.

Nice to Have

• Experience with the Yii framework.
• Experience with React.
• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Experience within fintech, payments, or financial services.
• Experience working on large-scale, distributed, or high-availability systems.
