For our client we are looking for a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer.

This position is suitable for a professional with deep technical knowledge of AWS and Azure, who can independently resolve complex incidents, work effectively in a team, and act as an expert and mentor for other team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and support requests, resolving issues at platform, process, and application level.

• Deploy software and infrastructure for customers and technical applications.

• Monitor system performance, capacity, and cloud resource usage; identify irregularities and potential incidents.

• Maintain systems with patches and updates, and keep asset and license documentation current.

• Participate in on-call rotation, communicate with vendors, and monitor their performance against agreed service levels.

• Act as a subject matter expert, mentor less experienced colleagues, deputize for the manager when needed, and use AI tools to improve efficiency while following internal security and data protection rules.

Required Experience

• 4+ years of proven experience with AWS and Azure public cloud platforms

• 5+ years with Linux and/or Windows Server in a Cloud or SaaS environment.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services,

• Hands-on experience with SQL Server and other database technologies.

• Strong understanding of networking protocols, technologies, and LAN/VLAN configurations.

• Proven incident and problem management skills, including on-call participation, system monitoring, patching, capacity management, and asset/license documentation.

• Experience managing cloud resources, monitoring solution elasticity, and tracking vendor performance against agreed service levels.

• Demonstrated SME experience within technical teams, with a track record of mentoring colleagues, transferring knowledge, and escalating to external consultants or vendors when necessary.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, communicate professionally in writing and verbally, and document work accurately.

• Ability to work with AI systems – creating effective prompts, evaluating output quality, and applying AI to generate ideas, develop, and scale department tasks.
