As a „Machine Learning Engineer – Computer Vision & Perception“, you will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge algorithms that power the autonomous flying robots, transforming warehouse inventory management systems of tomorrow. If you thrive on solving complex challenges, innovating with real-time machine learning, and bringing AI-driven vision to life, this is your chance to make a real impact. At UVIONIX, we don’t just build technology – we shape the future of intelligent automation. To bring this vision to life, we’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in computer vision, machine learning, and real-time AI – here’s what you’ll need to succeed:

    • Experience in designing, training and deploying of object detection models like YOLO, Faster R-CNN, RT-DETR
    • Experience with dataset preparation, augmentation and annotation tools like Roboflow, LabelImg
    • Proficiency in training and fine-tuning neural networks using PyTorch, TensorFlow or Keras
    • Experience in using computer vision libraries like OpenCV for preprocessing and postprocessing in real-time
    • Knowledge in the standard image pipeline processing techniques like resizing, filtering, thresholding and format convertion
    • Strong theoretical and mathematical background in computer vision and neural networks
    • Proficiency in working with version control systems like Git and GitHub

    The following will be considered a plus

    • Familiarity with barcode symbologies – EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, QR codes, DataMatrix
    • Experience with open-source barcode recognition libraries like ZBar or ZXing
    • Experience with OCR frameworks like Tesseract, EasyOCR, or building custom models
    • Familiarity with Apriltags and ArUco markers and their usage in robotics
    • Experience with ROS/ROS2 and NVIDIA Isaac ROS packages
    • Experience with using simulation environments or synthetic data generation to augment training datasets
    • Experience in deploying object detection models on edge devices using CUDA programming and GPU-acceleration
    • Experience in deploying object detection models on embedded systems like NVIDIA Jetson devices – Orin Nano, Orin NX, AGX Orin

    Role and responsibilities

    • Development, training and deployment of object detection algorithms
    • Development, training and deployment of barcode and optical character recognition algorithms
    • Adapting, optimizing and training of existing open-source machine learning and object detection algorithms on edge devices
    • Fine-tuning pre-trained models using transfer learning
    • Development of self-training algorithms
    • Deployment of machine learning and object detection algorithms to run in real time on NVIDIA Jetson devices using the NVIDIA computer vision SDKs – TensorRT, Triton, DeepStream, Omniverse Replicator, TAO toolkit, CV-CUDA
    • Participate in all phases of development by close collaboration with control systems, robotics and embedded Linux engineers
    • Keeping up with advancements in computer vision
