If you’re passionate about innovation, solving complex real-world problems, and shaping the future of robotics, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed:

    • Knowledge in design and implementation of Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (VSLAM) algorithms
    • Experience with VSLAM libraries and algorithms like RTAB-Map, NVIDIA Isaac ROS Visual SLAM, ORB-SLAM, ORB-SLAM2, ORB-SLAM3, Cartographer, Kimera
    • Experience in working with open-source computer vision libraries like PCL and OpenCV
    • Strong understanding of ROS/ROS2 and NVIDIA Isaac ROS packages
    • Experience in working with LIDAR sensors and IMUs and their integration into localization and mapping algorithms
    • Knowledge of 3D transformations using homogeneous coordinates, quaternions and Euler angles
    • Strong foundations in applied mathematics, linear algebra, geometry and computer vision
    • Proficiency in working with version control systems like Git and GitHub

The following will be considered a plus

    • Experience in deploying VSLAM algorithms on edge devices like NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi or FPGA
    • Experience with algorithms for autonomous exploration and loop closure detection
    • Experience working with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Gazebo or AirSim for testing algorithms in virtual environments
    • Experience with stereo cameras such as Intel Realsense, ZEDX, ZEDX-Mini
    • Experience in sensor fusion between cameras, IMUs, LIDARs using Kalman filters
    • Experience in working with NVIDIA Jetson devices – Orin Nano, Orin NX, AGX Orin
    • Familiarity with path planning algorithms and integrating localization into real-time navigation pipelines
    • Familiarity with the MAVLink and MAVROS ROS2 packages for integrating vision-based localization with UAV control
    • Knowledge of 3D reconstruction, pose graph optimization and occupancy map generation techniques

    Role and responsibilities

    • Design and implementation of real-time Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping algorithms for autonomous flying robots
    • Adapting open-source VSLAM algorithms like RTAB-Map and NVIDIA Isaac ROS Visual SLAM for large indoor areas and dynamic environments
    • Optimizing, tuning and deploying of VSLAM algorithms on edge devices using CUDA and GPU acceleration
