The role

We are looking for a Product Manager to take charge of our KYC (know your customer) product line. As such you will drive the effort to develop a world-class portfolio of tools to remove the hassle of merchant underwriting. You will design and deliver software solutions that satisfy global regulatory requirements and in-house AML, compliance and risk policies. You will build value for SumUp’s customers by making merchant verification seamless and enjoyable.

What you’ll be doing 

  • Create and drive the vision to build SumUp’s global financial services ecosystem while turning transactions into interactions
  • Research the market, players, competitors, and partners as well as internal stakeholders to gage insights and build a delivery roadmap
  • Study customers’ needs and translate them into clearly defined problem statements/ opportunities descriptions and from there into product requirements
  • Work closely with a team of engineers to implement user stories into merchant features
  • Manage stakeholder and partner relationships
  • Balance new feature development, technical debt pay-off, and routing maintenance work with focus on time to market and functional design
  • Experiment and innovate
  • Advocate for your product within the organization and outside
  • Support risk, compliance, AML and ops teams

Your profile

  • You have 3+ years of experience in product management in an agile organization
  • You are fluent in English – you’ll be a part of a truly global organization
  • You have solid background co-creating in cross-functional, cross-location teams
  • You have process product and/or technical knowledge in web/mobile apps development and API integrations
  • You appreciate incremental software development with focus on merchant value
  • You have previous KYC/AML experience in a global company
  • You are enthusiastic about customers and their needs
  • You can inspire, excite and lead by example
  • You feel strong ownership and pride in own and team’s work
  • You enjoy responsibility and have a hands-on approach
  • You are an analytical and practical problem solver
