The mission of the Merchant Bank Tribe at SumUp is to create a service which solves the challenges small business owners face every day, providing them with secure instant access to their funds and a transparent overview of their transactions. 

We started with mPOS 7 years ago and now our portfolio includes invoicing, P2P, debit card, ecommerce and other card not present solutions that are still in the oven.

Banking services is a new domain in our ever growing ecosystem. It extends our product portfolio allowing small and medium-sized businesses to operate end to end on a single platform.

The Backoffice Squad is the newest squad in the Bank Tribe and still in formation. It will build the backoffice tool for the SumUp Bank from scratch. The backoffice tool will house all SumUp card and bank related information, such as merchant account details where they can be managed from the different SumUp teams – onboarding, verification, anti-fraud, etc. 

The Squad is in the process of formation and that is why we are looking for a Product Manager to own the product roadmap.

What you’ll do

  • Work efficiently with a team of developers, designers, quality engineers, product analysts, and operational experts and interface with stakeholders in the spirit of co-creation and mutual respect
  • Design and build our backoffice platform that satisfies various business requirements and user needs; drive the testing, implementation, and post-production support
  • Gather requirements and scope projects, facilitate discussions and drive resolution of issues
  • Apply product delivery techniques and product development best practices to build the product right
  • Work with data (user and process data, business & system KPIs) comfortably and make data-informed decisions

You’ll be great for this role if

  • You have 3+ years experience in product management.
  • You’re familiar with the Fintech industry and have a solid understanding of the payments competitive landscape and recent trends.
  • You have previous experience with acquirer/payment processor integrations for terminal and/or online payments.
  • You’re able to deliver multiple initiatives without compromising results.
  • You appreciate incremental software development with a focus on value.
  • You’re fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Any of the following would be considered a plus

  • You have experience in payment authorisation and clearing systems.
  • You have an understanding of financial transaction standards (ISO8583/ ISO 20022).
  • You’ve successfully completed an EMV certification.
