Senior Software Engineer in Test

We’re seeking an experienced Infrastructure and Automation Engineer to join our Product Infrastructure team.
In this role, you will design, implement, and continuously enhance the infrastructure that is used to identify and test complex failure scenarios. Our internal infrastructure involves managing environments with and petabytes of data. Your mission: push StorPool’s platform to its limits, uncover scalability, reliability, availability, and software consistency challenges before they impact our customers, and ensure our product remains rock-solid.

What You’ll Do:

• Translate requirements into action: Convert business and systems requirements into effective test strategies, scenarios, and comprehensive test plans. Lead test plan reviews with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders. Promote and implement shift-left approach.
• Innovate in automation: Identify and lead initiatives to improve or create new infrastructure for exercising real-world failure modes in a petabyte-scale, driving efficiency and productivity in test development, scheduling, and deployment.
• Develop and Enhance Tooling: Contributing and leading development of various internal tooling to support product operations and streamline debugging processes across disk/network initialization, data collection systems and others.
• Master problem-solving: Investigate and reproduce complex, real-world failures from production environments and create reliable and stable automation that exercises them.
• Mentor and grow the team: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth. Leading on team work planning and tasks prioritization.

What We’re Looking For:

• Leadership experience: Proven track record in technical leadership and project management, with a strong attention to detail.
• Technical proficiency: Expertise in at least two of the following scripting and/or programming languages: Python, C, Perl, PHP, Shell script.
• Automation expertise: Strong background in defining automation testing strategies and implementing robust automation frameworks. Focus on the shift left approach.
• CI/CD mastery: Solid understanding of Git and experience enhancing CI/CD pipelines to improve development processes.
