ABOUT THE ROLE

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Analyse functional requirements and acceptance criteria to create compliant designs and software
• Collaborate to break down complex projects into workable items to create, identify, prioritize, and push forward the work items that are needed to contribute to the company goals
• Develop and maintain the next generation SaaS platform for e-commerce
• Optimise and improve existing data pipelines and solutions
• Participate in the design and development of key new business components
• Participate in the future product roadmap with estimates and design ideas
• Proactive communication to spread knowledge and/or to collaborate, addressing the diverse stakeholder audiences

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE:

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field which includes preparation on algorithms, data structures
• 5 years of professional software development experience
• Experience with Java or Kotlin programming, knowledge of standards and best practices
• Experience with modern front-end development frameworks/libraries such as ReactJS, AngularJS
• Experience in backend development with technologies such as JAX-RS, Spring, Protobuf, gRPC, GraphQL
• Experience with Cloud-based services, from providers e.g. Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Hands-on, practical skills dealing with data processing
• Experience working with databases and storage solutions – PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, RDMS, ZooKeeper, Key-value stores, BigTable, BigQuery
• Effective and strong communicator to address different stakeholders
• Excellent analytical and engineering skills to design solutions, that are consumable by different stakeholders
• Experience with Agile development
• Experience with CI/CD processes, workflows, and tools such as Git, NPM, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven
• Familiar with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, and Spock
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE CONSIDERED AN ADVANTAGE:

• Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools – Pentaho Data Integration, Talend, Informatica PowerCenter or similar
• In-depth understanding of data integration concepts
• Experience with infrastructure as code and tools such as Terraform
• Experience in developing highly available, distributed, and production critical services
• Experience with microservice architectures and challenges
• Experience in container technologies and container management solutions, e.g. Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with message brokers such as PubSub, Kafka
• Experience with NodeJS/Typescript programming, knowledge of standards and best practices
• Experience with streaming data technologies – Apache Beam, Apache Spark, Apache Storm or similar
