Senior Java Automation QA Engineer

The Commercial Rating and Pricing Integration Platform unifies complex insurance policy calculations under one common API. The team handles large-scale data transformations, distributed task orchestration, parameter versioning, and high-performance calculation engines.

About the Role

The role is focused on quality across the STLC within SAFe and client compliance. The engineer works closely with product owners, BAs, and developers, applying automation where it delivers measurable value. A senior engineer is expected to adapt when constraints change and make context-aware decisions they can explain.

We are looking for a quality-focused engineer whose strengths lie in process maturity, test coverage, execution speed and reliability. Java is the primary tool, but what matters most is the ability to think about what to test, when, and why.

The team values pragmatism, simplicity, and sound judgment, treating process and documentation with the same discipline as code.

What you will be doing:

• Participate in requirement analysis – clarify acceptance criteria, identify gaps and non-functional requirements.
• Adjust test strategy, prioritize and compose regression, smoke, and sanity suites based on context and risk.
• Design and maintain test cases that balance coverage with maintainability, automate test cases.
• Automate testing processes and support GH Actions.
• Collect and report on coverage, traceability, and automation benefit.
• Own release delivery process & deployments.
• Trace defects across frontend, backend, APIs, and data layers.
• Coordinate client QA engineers in team.

What we expect:

• Deep practical ownership of QA/QC processes – knowing what to test, when, why, and how to measure it.
• Strong test design thinking – prioritization based on risk and business value, not habit.
• Focus on coverage completeness, suite reliability, and execution speed as daily concerns.
• Understanding of compliance and governance requirements and how they shape testing scope and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with RestAPI, MQ, SQL manual testing and test automation (Java).
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, container-based environments, monitoring tools.
• Agile/SAFe experience with active ceremony participation.
• Ability to estimate, communicate risks, and work autonomously.
• Working English for daily communication and documentation.

Nice to have:

• Еxperience in reinsurance or related domains, performance testing, mentoring experience.
