Our client is an online travel company for consumers and small business travelers. They own numerous well-known online marketplaces for vacation rentals. Their mission is to connect homeowners and property managers with travelers who seek the space, value, and amenities of vacation rental homes and hotels. The sites have a selection of properties worldwide with detailed descriptions, photos, a list of amenities, and nearby attractions.

The team is in Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and the US. More than 100 developers offer services across Europe and the United States. We have 30+ pod teams working with Kotlin, Java, React, iOS, and Android, incrementally delivering functionality to the client. We have new global features every 6 months.

IF YOU ARE

• An Android developer with 3+ years of commercial experience using Kotlin and Java
• Proficient in architectural and design patterns in Android, including MVP, MVVM, Android SDK, clean architecture, and Solid principles
• Experienced with Android Jetpack Architecture Components such as LiveData, Lifecycles, ViewModel, Navigation, and Room
• Familiar with Git, unit testing, and Jenkins
• Skilled in analyzing, clarifying, and eliciting requirements, and designing components with UML documentation
• Proactive, flexible, and cooperative in teamwork environments
• Knowledgeable in multi-threading, concurrent programming, and performance optimization
• An advocate for operational excellence, including unit testing, establishing SLAs, and programming for resiliency and scalability
• Fluent in English for project communication needs
• Skilled in GraphQL (would be a plus)

• Own the development and quality of features being implemented on the customer’s Android app
• Provide and participate in code reviews to assess overall code quality, flexibility, and application of best object-oriented programming (OOP) techniques
• Drive CI/CD in our software development process within the Agile development team
• Write automated unit, system, and acceptance tests to support our CI pipelines
• Create top solutions for vacation rentals with a unified shared UI approach
• Conduct pull request reviews for the shopping portfolio, which includes different modules and services
• Own the quality of code through testing practices
• Strive for optimum organizational efficiency by applying systems thinking across boundaries and recommending policies and processes
