About the Company

A global technology consultancy delivering large-scale digital commerce solutions is expanding its Sofia engineering team and looking for an experienced Lead Front-End Developer.

The company works with international enterprise clients and develops complex web platforms focused on scalability, performance, and modern user experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the frontend development process across multiple web projects
• Design scalable frontend architectures and reusable UI solutions
• Develop modern applications using React and related technologies
• Drive technical discussions, engineering standards, and best practices within the team
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, Backend, and Business teams
• Participate in technical planning, estimation, and solution design
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high development quality standards
• Mentor and support frontend developers within the team
• Identify technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and architectural improvements
• Take ownership of frontend delivery from planning to production release

Requirements

• 7–8+ years of professional frontend development experience
• Strong commercial experience with React.js in large-scale production environments
• Previous experience in a Lead or Senior Lead Frontend role
• Strong JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS knowledge
• Experience with TailwindCSS or similar component-based styling frameworks
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, scalability, and performance optimization
• Experience with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Nice to Have

• Experience with Next.js, Remix, or similar frameworks
• Production experience with TypeScript
• Knowledge of testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, or Mocha
• Experience with GraphQL and Apollo Client
• Familiarity with REST API integrations and end-to-end testing
• Computer Science or related technical background
