    PMO (Project Management Office): the information hub for products, projects and programmes within News UK Technology. You’ll work across our diverse portfolio of media brands, supporting the lead to ensure our delivery capability is best in class. We support teams with their financial and other reporting requirements, as well as governance oversight.

    YOUR ROLE:

    You will be joining our team to support our portfolio of technology and digital projects currently in flight. You will be happy to get stuck in to project administration and reporting as well as work with project teams, finance managers and contractor agencies to enable our digital products to deliver efficiently and in budget. PMO or IT experience would be helpful but not required, as there will be on the job training offered.

    YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO SOMETHING BIG:

    • Own the resource tracking process working closely with finance to ensure efficiency and quality
    • Manage the contractor process by raising POs, tracking markups, liaising with agencies, tracking payment and timesheet submissions
    • Produce management reports, continuously monitoring effectiveness and adapting to suit changing requirements
    • Track product roadmaps, metrics and KPIs
    • Ensure documentation meets the necessary standards, benefits are identified and tracked, relevant parties have been engaged and the necessary approvals are given before the project proceeds
    • Provide suitable delivery reporting to projects and programmes as required
    • Utilize the suite of delivery tools
    • Maintain and improve current governance processes
    • Provide visibility and information on programme and portfolio tracking
    • Support the PMO Manager as required

    OUR IDEAL TEAMMATE HAS/IS:

    • You have good attention to detail, you’ll be running reports, collating and verifying information and working with financial systems
    • You have a good understanding of Excel and/or Google Sheets (this is an advantage)
    • You are organised and able to plan effectively
    • You’ll enjoy getting down into the detail, spotting ways to improve our systems, outputs and quality of information
    • We have excellent team-working and communication skills, and are able to work to a deadline
    • You will be comfortable talking to both technologists and business stakeholders providing them with accurate and timely information and support. You can pull information together and share with others
    • You will have the ability to influence, negotiate and constructively challenge at all levels
