Web Design Team Lead

The role

You will join an extension team of our client – LBR ( Law Business Research) an independent publisher, helping the world’s best lawyers become even better.

Our products help readers stay ahead of changes in law, policy and regulation—wherever they occur.

As a member of the software development team you play an important role in the look and feel of LBR’s portfolio of digital products

You will be responsible for implementing designs for customer facing features and digital products in collaboration with developers and assist in producing wireframes and designs.

You also need to support editorial services with the layout of content in the CMS

What you’ll do

• Maintain effective working relationships with your colleagues
• Work closely with developers using React to produce well styled and responsive components with a consistent look and feel
• Structure Less/Sass to be maintainable
• Implement and test styling in conformance with browser support requirements
• Take part in peer reviews with developers to improve the quality of implemented components and share knowledge
• Log notes of decision made and other pertinent details in the issue tracking system
• Implement emails that are compatible with major email clients so that our clients get the best first contact impression possible
• Fix any design issues that arise with the production environment in a timely manner
• Compliance with brands guidelines online

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years minimum of website UI design
• 3+ years minimum of website design implementation
• 1+ years’ experience working alongside developers using React, Vue or similar to create styled components would be useful
• Experience design content heavy news style website designs for the B2B market
• Email design and implementation
• HTML, CSS, LESS/SASS and other technologies required to implement web designs
• Browser scripting languages like React and Typescript/JavaScript to implement more advanced designs would be an advantage
• Website design and email testing frameworks such as LitmusWebsite wireframes, mock-ups and designs meet the requirements of the stakeholders Website implementations match design

Technical skills set:

• Git, HTML, CSS, Less/Sass
• Balsamic, Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop or similar
• Visual Studio and vscode
• React, Vue.js, JavaScript/Typescript are desirable

    Lead responsibilities:

• 1+ years experience managing and leading a team
• Manage and lead a small team of web designers working on multiple projects
• Estimate, Plan and breakdown projects into technical tasks
• Identify and recommend new technologies that could benefit the products
