Pliant is looking for a driven technical writer with a keen interest in technical products and the ways to describe them in a clear and impactful way. 

We are building an automation platform, and our current target audience is engineers, managers, and IT staff. Our long-term goal is to expand our user base to include people with no technical background, an effort we support with an increasingly low-code, drag-and-drop interface. Hence, we are looking for the right person to help us better communicate the product’s capabilities to our end users. 

Collaborating with our technical teams, you will be responsible for maintaining our product documentation (internal and user-facing), release notes, product manuals, “how-to” guides, demo feature scripts, and technical articles. In addition, you will collaborate with the Product and Customer Success teams to help us craft better messages in the product itself (onboarding, help, tooltips, error messages, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Maintains Pliant product-related end user, product, and technical documentation in Confluence
• Collaborates with the development team in reviewing and proofreading descriptions of stories and epics, as well as Acceptance Criteria in JIRA
• Works collaboratively across various Pliant development, customer success, and marketing teams
• Reviews the Sprint backlog, extracts, documents, and links new features and feature updates according to story description, acceptance criteria, and comments
• Participates in the planning and grooming meetings, technical discussions, and design meetings, and documents important decisions and updates related to Pliant products
• Proactively engages with development and success teams to ensure a thorough and correct understanding of Pliant functions
• Creates and maintains product documentation: in-app guides, tutorials, and other explainer texts inside the product
• Ensures that the Pliant API is thoroughly documented
• Ensures that all blocks in the Integration Palette have meaningful descriptions, short but descriptive enough context help, tooltip texts, error messages texts, explanation texts, etc.
• Prepares release notes for each product release
• Owns documentation projects from start to finish, with minimal supervision
• Drafts and maintains additional customer-facing knowledge articles as required

Requirements

• 3+ years in a technical writing role preferably focused on the technical subject matter
• Native equivalent English fluency
• Experience with translating IT technical terms into Bulgarian
• Knowledge of and ability to bring new ideas, writing best practices, and modern voice to the role
• Understanding of infrastructure technologies such as databases, firewalls, network routing, switching, logging solutions, etc

Bonus points for:

• Domain knowledge and previous experience in process automation
• Experience in automating user documentation
