Automation Engineer

Our international IT Hub in Sofia, Bulgaria is growing. You will be able to work with different teams within the PHOENIX Group in Europe, being involved in projects related to SAP, Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, Network, OCC, Business Intelligence, ERP, and CRM Solutions. You will have the chance to participate in the development of projects and products that are diverse, visible, interesting, and for the public welfare and health. You will work in an international environment and culture with a constant exchange of onsite-/offsite knowledge.

We are looking for an Automation Engineer to join our international team in Sofia.

Your Responsibilities:

• Administration, operation, and maintenance of the automation platform – based on Ansible and GitLab.

• Extension, further development, and tuning of the platform(s) primarily based on open-source solutions(git, eda, ee, awx, podman).

• Building and supporting container subsystems based on Kubernetes orchestration and Podman engine.

• Customization of container images for ansible execution environment based on centos and rhel.

• Supporting business partners in implementing automation in playbooks for DB Clusters, IBM Power Aix, Linux, and Windows products.

• Management of external providers and cooperation with other service departments

Your Profile:

• Successfully completed studies in (business) computer science or a comparable field or training as an IT specialist with several years of professional experience.

• Experience as an automation specialist in the area of Ansible, GitHub, or other automation platforms and tools are an advantage.

• Good understanding of YAML syntax.

• Good knowledge of open-source technology, administration, user management, performance optimization, and scripting.

• Good knowledge of operating systems.

• Python programming knowledge is an advantage.

• Confident troubleshooting skills, analytical approach, understanding of business processes and procedures as well as a team-oriented and structured way of working.

• Good communication skills in German and English (spoken and written), natural curiosity, motivation, and openness to new things.

• Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends and to participate in on-call duties.
