Linux Administrator

We are looking for a Linux Administrator.

Linux Server Operations & Support

• Provide L2 24×7 operational support (3-shift model) for SLES (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) environments across Development, Test, and Production systems
• Monitor Linux servers proactively to ensure high availability, performance, and system stability; respond to incidents within defined SLAs
• Perform advanced troubleshooting via console (CLI-based administration), including system logs, services, storage, and network components
• Participate in bridge calls with clients and internal teams, clearly communicating technical status, impact, and resolution progress
• Support lifecycle activities such as patching, updates, and OS upgrades in line with change management processes
• Shape

Linux Administration & System Management

• Perform end-to-end SLES administration including user management, file systems, storage configuration, process management, and service control
• Manage package installations, patches, and repositories using native SUSE tools (e.g., zypper, YaST)
• Configure and maintain system security (firewall, SSH, permissions, auditing, hardening guidelines)
• Administer clustering solutions (e.g., Pacemaker) to ensure high availability and failover capabilities
• Support virtualization environments and manage virtual machines on various hypervisors
• Provide basic Windows Server administration support when required (added advantage)

Infrastructure & Platform Support

• Support integration with hypervisors and virtual platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure VMs, etc.)
• Assist with Azure-based Linux workloads (VM provisioning, storage, networking, monitoring)
• Perform basic network troubleshooting (IP configuration, DNS, routing checks, connectivity validation)
• Support backup and restore activities; coordinate with backup teams to validate job success and troubleshoot failures
• Analyze infrastructure dependencies when incidents require cross-domain investigation
• Shape

Monitoring, ITSM & Incident Management

• Work on incidents, service requests, and changes using ServiceNow and SPC ticketing tools
• Ensure proper documentation of incident resolution, root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive measures
• Follow structured change and release management processes to ensure minimal service disruption
• Maintain system documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge base articles

Collaboration, Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with cross-functional infrastructure, application, database, and cloud teams
• Contribute to automation initiatives (shell scripting, basic automation improvements) to enhance operational efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
• Stay up to date with SUSE Linux updates, security advisories, and industry best practices
• Continuously improve system reliability, performance, and operational standard
