Senior Frontend Developer

Modeshift is a product development company building a unified platform for public transportation. We are seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to build and maintain the user interfaces across our web and mobile ecosystem. You will work alongside other developers and maintain a close partnership with Product Designers to translate designs into high-quality features.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex Figma designs into functional platform features. We treat our Figma files as the definitive source of truth and rely on close collaboration between engineering and design to ensure 1:1 fidelity.

You will primarily work with React for our web platform. We also use React Native for our mobile applications – if you do not have experience with it, we expect you to be ready to learn it as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Feature Development: Take ownership of features through the full lifecycle: from architecture and implementation to automated testing and deployment.
• Design Partnership: Collaborate directly with Product Designers to ensure 1:1 visual and functional accuracy from Figma to production code.
• AI-Assisted Workflow: Integrate AI assistants into your daily work to increase delivery speed, using advanced prompting and structured context to solve complex logic and refactoring.
• Full-Stack Collaboration: Partner with backend developers to debug and extend existing APIs to ensure consistent integration across the platform.
• Platform Standards: Contribute to shared component libraries to ensure a consistent user experience across our web and mobile features.

Qualifications

• Core Expertise: Professional mastery of React and Redux.
• Mobile Development: Experience with React Native is a major plus. If not, a clear ability and willingness to learn mobile development is required.
• Figma: Expert-level ability to navigate Figma and follow design specifications exactly.
• AI Literacy: Solid knowledge of AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, etc.). You should be skilled in using structured context and clear prompts, skills, and agents to manage complex technical tasks efficiently.
• Backend Literacy: Ability to read and modify C# code to extend APIs when necessary.
• Engineering Fundamentals: Strong understanding of DRY and SoC principles, modern browser APIs, responsive design, and performance optimization.
