Delivery Manager

Modeshift builds the software platform that runs public transport for 60+ cities across Europe and the US. Our platform covers contactless fare collection, real-time vehicle tracking, passenger mobile apps, operator tools, and the back-office systems behind them. From checking an arrival time to tapping to board, passengers interact with Modeshift-powered systems throughout the journey.

We’re hiring a Delivery Manager to lead transit technology projects from initiation through implementation, launch, and handover.

What you’d work on

You’ll lead implementations of Modeshift public transport solutions – ticketing, EMV/contactless payments, CAD/AVL and related hardware, passenger apps, and back-office tools. Projects range from software-only deployments to rollouts involving validators, ticket vending machines, onboard computers, retail channels, data integrations, and the configuration of reports and agency setup. You’ll work with Sales, Product, Engineering, Field Services, Support, and client teams across the US and Europe, owning rollout plans, dependencies, risks, status reporting, stakeholder communication, and handover to operational teams.

What we look for

• 4+ years of IT project, program, implementation, or delivery management experience
• Managing cross-functional projects from planning through launch
• Client-facing experience with clear written and verbal communication
• Managing dependencies across product, engineering, field services, support, and external stakeholders
• Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models
• Strong ownership of timelines, risks, decisions, and status reporting
• Comfortable with Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and project planning tools
• Analytical thinking and the ability to weigh technical and business tradeoffs
• AI tools are part of how you work. We use Claude and other frontier tools daily, and if that doesn’t excite you, you won’t like it here.

Bonus: connected systems, GovTech, public transport, payments, or SaaS implementations; coordinating projects with both software and hardware; PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum certification; experience with US or EU public-sector clients.

Interview process

Short screening call first. If that goes well, a delivery case discussion covering project planning, dependency management, risk handling, client communication, rollout coordination, and working with engineering/product/support. The final round is with the team and focuses on ownership, judgment, and how you work.

We aim to close within two to three weeks of the first call.
