    We are looking for multiple Data scientists for our high growth software company to perform statistical, data mining, and machine learning analysis on complex problems related to forecasting retail sales, items (as specific as at UPC and SKU level) and customer movement. The problems you will have to solve will require a lot of different techniques, including creating and/or customizing innovative algorithms. You should be passionate about creating data-driven applications leveraging various machine-learning algorithms. You will build solutions for relevance and recommendations by leveraging available data and machine learning algorithms.  As we are continuing to expand, we are particularly looking forward to hearing from qualified candidates from Bulgaria and other Eastern European countries.

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    • You will explore large data sets, perform quantitative analysis, develop predictive models and bring the right algorithmic solutions.
    • You will develop tools for complex statistical analysis using Python, R, WEKA, SAS, or a similar statistical package.
    • You will collaborate and work closely developers to integrate new solutions and technologies into workflows.
    • You will engage with project owners regularly to review project results, improve accuracy and quality and satisfy all project requirements.

    • Seasoned technical professional. Contributes through proven technical expertise. Has significant functional impact.


    • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (like, mathematics, statistics, economics, operations research, computer science, etc.).
    • 5+ years’ experience and proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, and optimization algorithms.
    • Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
    • Experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models.
    • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (Random Forests, Support Vector machine, Gradient boosting, artificial neural networks, Bayesian networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
    • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (GLM/Regression, Time Series, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
    • Experience working with large datasets using tools like SQL, Hadoop, MapReduce, JPPF and Integration tools like Pentaho, etc.
    • Ability to comprehend and analyze business needs and translate into technical requirements.
    • Any experience with Retail forecasting is a huge plus.
