Our client build a leading international learning platform for medical education, serving students as well as universities and medical institutions. It is their mission to make high-quality education available to as many people as possible, and spread specialized knowledge around the world.

We are looking for a highly skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data solutions within their growing analytics team. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing data pipelines, managing data warehouses and data lakes, and ensuring that our data infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and built for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient data solutions, ensuring smooth data flow and accessibility;
• Assist in the administration of their operational MySQL database and propose optimization strategies for enhanced performance;
• Continuously improve and optimize existing data pipelines while designing and creating new ones to support evolving business needs;
• Manage and develop their data warehouse and data lake, ensuring they are well-structured and aligned with best practices;
• Research and analyze new data sources to drive the development of internal processes and introduce new features for their data architecture;
• Support the infrastructure and strategy for scalable data APIs, caching mechanisms, and data distribution;
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve data quality issues, and propose solutions to improve data reliability and consistency over the long term.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role;
• Deep expertise in data warehousing and designing efficient and scalable data pipelines;
• Strong programming skills in Python and Spark for ETL processes and data manipulation;
• Experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, and others for data storage, processing, and streaming;
• Proficiency in MySQL for relational database administration, as well as MongoDB, Redis for diverse data needs;
• Practical experience with Airflow for orchestrating complex workflows and Terraform for infrastructure as code;
• Linux Bash/Shell scripting experience for automation and efficient data processing;
• Ability to work independently and set up end-to-end solutions with limited support from DevOps and other engineering teams;
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration;
• Self-driven and fast learner, capable of staying up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies.

Beneficial Experience:

• R programming skills for data analysis and backend support;
• Experience with Google BigQuery for additional cloud-based data warehousing solutions;
• Familiarity with automation tools like n8n to streamline workflows.
