Job Description

The Functional Manual Test Engineer will test the company’s prototypes and products in R&D. The specialist will participate in test procedures and methods to ensure device and software functionality and that the products meet industry and customer customer specifications.
He/she will prepare test reports, take active part in writing manuals and documentation and develop new test procedures and methods.

Part of the job is to verify products reliability through analysis and troubleshooting of components and equipment at various stages of the product development process.

The Functional Manual Test Engineer shall collaborate closely with all members of the software development team and technical support teams and provide second level of technical support to first-line support agents.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare execution plans and test procedures
• Execute manual functional tests of hardware devices and appropriate software (embedded , web and mobile)
• Research installation manuals and manually setup third-party equipment (alarm panels and home automation devices)
• Maintain existing execution plans and test procedures and develop new
• Prepare and verify internal knowledgebase articles
• Utilize test instruments in order to test functionality and performance of products
• Build and maintain test stands for R&D and manufacturing;
• Serve as second level technical support

Required knowledge and experience:

• 2+ years of experience in the field of manual testing of hardware and software
• Passion for quality assurance, attention to detail, analytical approach and desire to understand reasons behind failed tests
• High School diploma and/or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in electronical engineering or equivalent field is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of communication interfaces and digital electronics
• Basic knowledge of multilayer PCB layout design
