About the role
We are looking to expand our ATS Integration team, which currently consists of 6 engineers. The team is responsible for building and maintaining Gem’s integrations with leading Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g., Greenhouse or Workday), enabling customers to use Gem without migrating from their existing ATS. You will be working and managing multiple terabytes of relational data stored in our PostgreSQL database. Part of your work will be to help us make it even more scalable and performant while implementing features for Enterprise customers such as GitLab, eBay, DoorDash, Reddit, and Anthropic.
A key part of the team’s scope is Talent Compass — Gem’s reporting and analytics product used by all paying customers. Talent Compass provides recruiters and talent partners with a single source of truth for tracking performance across the entire recruiting funnel. Customers can quickly answer questions like how many hires they made in Q1, whether they hit their targets, how current performance compares to a year ago, and where candidates are dropping off in the interview process.
The goal is to help recruiting teams make confident, data-driven decisions by identifying bottlenecks, forecasting hiring needs, and demonstrating impact — all without relying on complex BI tools. Talent Compass also helps recruiters continuously improve their recruiting strategies by turning funnel metrics into actionable insights.
Technology-wise, our team uses Python, Redshift, Typescript, React, GraphQL, REST, and Aurora PostgreSQL.
