Senior DevOps Engineer (Poker Web)

Overview of the role:

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Poker Web team.

You will be part of the team that manages and delivers Software Development projects and helps to ensure availability of key DevOps services used by the Software Development teams and Business units. You’ll design, build, maintain & operate both customer facing & internal systems and services. You will automate and streamline our operations and processes. You’ll support our Dev, QA/UAT and Production environments for a range of projects. You are confident contributing to design decisions & suggesting improvements and alternative ideas to others. You are a self-starter with the ability to make progress with minimal direction.

This role follows a hybrid approach to working, allowing you to combine working from home with working in our modern offices. These discussions are between you and your manager to find the best pattern for you both, while recognising that quality time together is essential for keeping us mission-aligned.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain Poker environments and Services
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for the aforementioned Services
• Build and maintain DevOps tools & platforms
• Maintaining and ensuring availability of application workloads in AWS
• Collaborate with Development, QA & Product teams
• Create and improve team documentation, runbooks and processes
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring:

Essential:

• An expert in AWS with a demonstrable track record building and operating cloud native applications & environments well aligned to best industry practice.
• Strong knowledge of Jenkins structure, casc, pipelines, libraries and Groovy. (GitHub actions a bonus)
• Strong knowledge in containerisation & Kubernetes constructs (EKS, Helm)
• Experience with Build tools & dependency management (Npm, Yarn, Maven)
• An expert building and maintaining platforms via IAC tools: (Terraform, Terraspace).
• Experience with Git and versioning software.
• Experience in coding, scripting languages (i.e. Groovy, Bash, Python)
• At least 3+ years’ experience in a similar role

Desirable:

• Familiarity with web server technologies (Apache, Nginx)
• Good understanding of configuration and management tools (i.e. Salt, Ansible)
• Experience with cloud native observability tools (Prometheus, Promtail, Grafana, Loki, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail)
• Experience with Message oriented middleware: (AmazonMQ, Kafka, SQS).
• Experience with NoSQL and Caching: (DocDB, DynamoDB, Elasticache).
• Technical expertise in Linux (Redhat / CentOS / Amazon Linux).
• A software development background a plus
• Industry certifications backing up your experience (AWS, CNCF)
