Job Description

As a PHP Developer in the Backend team in Sofia, you will be responsible for the development of an Online Gambling Platform, which supports all casino games developed by Evolution Bulgaria, as well as their integration with various online casino operators throughout the whole world.

You will be a part of a team of PHP developers and QA Engineers, where we value team-play, clear feature scopes, high system performance, frequent refactoring and neat code. You will report to the Backend Team Lead, and the Backend Architect.

• To maintain and upgrade the core backend software, consisting of several REST-full API Services, which manage the actions taken by a casino player in various online betting games, and the financial transactions that occur due to said actions;
• Your responsibilities will include the addition of new features, the optimization of old functionalities, creation of new services, reviewing the code of your fellow developers, and close collaboration with the QA Engineers regarding bug identification, fixing and deployment to production;
• You will be writing and maintaining clean and performant code, and following and implementing modern good industry practices;
• You will be participating in the team’s established Code Review process, where each line of code is reviewed by at least one other developer;
• To collaborate with QA Engineers regarding issue resolution and verification;
• To follow and to encourage good practices;
• To proactively present ideas to the team and researches new technologies.

Qualifications:

• Experience in PHP Web Development;
• Not afraid to work without a Framework;
• Experience with MySQL (MariaDB is a plus);
• Experience with Docker;
• Experience with Git (or similar version-control software);
• Understanding of SOLID and KISS principles.
