We are partnering with a well-established brand that is expanding its product engineering hub in Sofia. The team builds large-scale digital loyalty systems used across multiple markets, using a modern backend stack including Node.js, TypeScript and AWS.
In this role you will have product ownership and technical influence, contributing both hands-on development and architectural decisions.

Responsibilities:
• Design and develop backend services powering large-scale digital applications (Node.js, TypeScript).
• Build and maintain serverless microservices on AWS.
• Work with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions.
• Review code, improve engineering standards, and mentor less experienced developers.
• Collaborate with product teams to deliver new platform capabilities.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing, monitoring, and overall platform reliability.
• Analyze and optimize systems for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Technical environment:
• Node.js, TypeScript.
• AWS Serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, S3, RDS).
• Event-driven microservices.
• GitHub Actions CI/CD.
• REST APIs and distributed system design.
Requirements:
• Strong experience building backend services in production environments.
• Adhering to best coding practices – your code is well-tested and maintainable.
• Experience with building production-grade services.
• Hands-on with AWS and serverless architectures.
• Good understanding of microservices, event-driven systems, and scalability patterns.
• Proactive collaborator – desire to mentor peers and to contribute to technical direction.
• Experience designing scalable or high-throughput systems is a strong advantage.
