    Who you are

    In 2020 we started transitioning to an agile way of working (adopting Scrum) and we need seasoned professionals like you to support this transition and subsequent growth. An obvious implication is that we are now working in teams dedicated to specific product areas. Great! But with the new structure comes the need to tie the teams together, make sure what they work on is aligned, both in content and context. You will be the glue and the frame that the teams need to optimally deliver business value. You might be the kind of solution architect who will fight the ivory tower attitude tooth and nail. Well, you’re the kind we like. You help others find the right way, you do not dictate the way. You are an extravert and a seasoned technologist who breathes the agile manifesto. You can be counted on to inspire others in understanding, adopting and applying the agile principles, and you have proven in the past to be able to do so.

    So what will you be doing typically? You:

    • ensure knowledge transfer to new squads about existing technology
    • redesign our IT Landscape towards our new microservice based architecture
    • drive, steer and support this transition
    • provide architectural guidance from old to new technologies to the development squads
    • support system integration between domains
    • coach & support developers in squads
    • support new technologies going to production
    • translate new initiatives from ideas into solutions
    • drive IT changes

    Besides that, you probably have a few ideas of your own that you would like to propose to us, and we are all ears! In case you are happy to coach, but need to have your feet in the mud every now and then? Actual coding in our foundation squad, or on secondment in business squads, is not frowned upon…

    About you

    • Minimum of 5 years of successful architecture experience in an agile organization
    • TOGAF or similar certified and have write more PSA’s than you can count
    • Strong coaching skills, so you help people become more self-propelled (don’t fix: help fix)
    • Easy facilitator: bring people together and keep the eyes on the ball
    • Experience working with (geo)distributed teams
    • Full SDLC exposure and prior successful experience with agile, DevOps
    • Experience with agile tooling such as Confluence, JIRA, or similar
    • Experience with architecture tooling such as ARIS or similar
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Fluent in English (both in writing and speech)

    You can distinguish yourself if you:

    • have worked in a high-pressure IT environment
    • have driven refactoring initiatives towards microservice driven architectures
    • have a valid work permit or are an EU citizen
    • are familiar with the financial industry processes, rules and regulations

    • get ahead of impediments before they become problems
