    About DataArt

DataArt is a global software engineering firm and a trusted technology partner for market leaders and visionaries. Our world-class team designs and engineers data-driven, cloud-native solutions to deliver immediate and enduring business value.

We promote a culture of radical respect, prioritizing your personal well-being as much as your expertise. We stand firmly against prejudice and inequality, valuing each of our employees equally.

We respect the autonomy of others before all else, offering remote, onsite, and hybrid work options. Our Learning and development centers, R&D labs, and mentorship programs encourage professional growth.

Our long-term approach to collaboration with clients and colleagues alike focuses on building partnerships that extend beyond one-off projects. We provide the ability to switch between projects and technology stacks, creating opportunities for exploration through our learning and networking systems to advance your career.

For one of our projects, we’re looking for a Senior Kotlin Developer.

    Position Overview

The project aims to build the bank of the future using cutting-edge technologies, presenting an exciting opportunity to collaborate on a major rebuild of the technical stack.

By utilizing Kafka and Kafka Streams, the project constructs a resilient, scalable backbone to support company growth. You’ll work in a small, agile, cross-functional environment that tackles real-world challenges and interacts closely with stakeholders and key business users.

    Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services using Kotlin
    • Implement and maintain microservices architecture
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
    • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
    • Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and ensure robust code quality
    • Work with databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
    • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on backend services
    • Excellent knowledge of Kotlin and its application in a professional environment
    • Strong experience in developing applications using the Java Enterprise platform
    • Proven experience in testing methodologies including unit and integration testing. A strong testing mindset is essential, as testing is a crucial part of this role
    • Experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB
    • Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP), object-oriented design (OOD), and design patterns
    • Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
    • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and best practices
    • Proficient in using code versioning tools like Git
    • Experience with building tools such as Gradle and Maven
    • Relevant financial services experience is preferred, particularly recent experience that aligns closely with our industry use cases
    • While full-stack skills are appreciated, we need to focus on back-end competencies for this role. We prefer deep expertise in one area over broad experience across multiple areas
    • Excellent communication skills with a strong command of spoken and written English

    What we Offer

    • Unique corporate culture – no micromanagement, friendly atmosphere, freedom, and mutual respect
    • Flexible schedule – ability to change projects, to work from home, and to try yourself in different roles
    • Professional Development Map – a comprehensive map of your professional development within DataArt
    • We hire people not for a project, but for the company. If the project (or your work in it) is over, you go to another project or to a paid “Idle”.
    • Social benefits – additional health insurance, life insurance, sports card, etc.
    • Opportunity to work from another DataArt office in a different city or country (temporary or permanently)
    • Free English courses
    • Cozy office with a great atmosphere
    • Snacks, drinks, and fruits are always available
