    Carista is a fast-growing Bulgarian company that loves cars. For the past couple of years, more than half a million drivers worldwide have diagnosed and coded their Audi, BMW, or Lexus with our mobile app.

    We are looking for an outstanding Technical Architect (C++) to join our team. You will play a key role in designing and evolving our software architecture, guiding development teams, and ensuring our systems are scalable, efficient, and built to last — while keeping an eye on modern technologies, including AI.

    What we’re looking for in our candidates:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field (preferred)
    • 10+ years of professional experience in software development
    •  Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer or Programmer
    •  Strong expertise in modern C++ (C++17/20/23)
    •  Experience with software architecture and system design
    •  Experience with cross-platform development (Linux, Windows, macOS)
    •  Solid understanding of memory management, multithreading, and performance optimization
    •  Experience working with Git, build systems (e.g., Make, CMake), and development tools
    •  Excellent English language skills – written and spoken
    •  Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions
    •  Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    •  Ability to work well in a team and share knowledge with others

    Key responsibilities:

    •  Define the structure of software systems, interfaces, and modular components
    •  Create and maintain architectural diagrams and documentation
    •  Evaluate and select libraries, frameworks, and tools (e.g., CMake, Google Test) to optimize the development lifecycle
    •  Conduct in-depth code reviews and guide teams toward software engineering best practices
    •  Ensure the architecture meets requirements for security and seamless integration with other systems (mobile, cloud, hardware)
    •  Mentor and support developers in applying best practices in software development
    •  Identify legacy components and plan refactoring to improve maintainability and performance
    •  Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and products

    Bonus skills:

    •  Experience with embedded systems or automotive software
    •  Experience with mobile or cloud integrations
    •  Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
    •  Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools
    •  Experience leading or mentoring development teams
    •  Knowledge of security best practices
    •  Experience with Java is a big plus
    •  An AI aficionado is a big plus
