Senior Python Engineer – External Attack Surface Scanning Platform

What you’ll be working on?

We are embarking on an exciting startup project to develop an external attack surface management platform that helps nations and organizations with their external security posture.

This platform will significantly enhance security by performing comprehensive scans of network ranges, including IP addresses, domains, and related subdomains. It will identify all ports and services on discovered hosts, attempt connections using default credentials, uncover secrets within web application services, and accurately identify CVEs while minimizing false positives. A visual interface will be developed to display all these findings effectively.

Your Role

Your role will involve working with another senior developer from Camplight and participating in the architecture, planning, and implementation of various features.

What does the interview process look like?

1. Initial Interview: We’ll start with a friendly 45-minute cultural and technical interview. This will include a discussion about your experience, major challenges you’ve tackled, and your ideal workplace. Two members of our team will assess cultural fit and your engineering expertise.
2. Homework Assignment: If there’s a match, we’ll provide a brief homework assignment, designed to take around 2 hours to complete.
3. Technical Deep Dive: Finally, we’ll have a 1-hour technical interview to discuss the homework and conduct a technical deep dive.

Regardless of the outcome, we will provide you with constructive feedback to help you grow.

Requirements

• Python backend developer for 3-5 years
• Worked with cloud environments such as AWS or DigitalOcean
• Experience with MQ services such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• ⁠Experience with application level protocols such as HTTP, FTP, SSH, Telnet, etc’
• Experience with the TCP/IP stack and strong understanding of TCP/IP networks
• Knowledge of the DNS protocol
• Experience with working with large amounts of data with MongoDB
• Experience working with process managers
• ⁠Experience working with a Linux based OS
• ⁠Knowledge with web scraping

Nice to have:

• ⁠Experience with distributed computing
• ⁠Experience with FastAPO
• Experience in the cyber security domain as a penetration tester or threat analyst
