What to expect on this role

As a Data Modeler focused on the payments domain for issuer processors, your key responsibilities will include designing and implementing data models that facilitate payment transaction processing, card issuance, and improve client onboarding. You will manage and process customer account data while collaborating with various stakeholders to comprehend business needs, ensure data integrity, optimize system performance, and support data-driven decision-making. Your work will be pivotal in defining the data architecture that supports essential payment processing systems. Thus, you will have the opportunity to work directly with our Bulgarian data team, which consists of 50 experts.

• Develop and maintain data models to support various aspects of the payment processing system.
• Optimize models for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Create diagrams to visualize data structures and relationships.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze data requirements.
• Translate business needs into data models for payment transactions and related services.
• Establish and enforce data modeling standards and best practices.
• Work with data engineers to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality.
• Optimize database performance for high transaction volumes.
• Document data models and provide clear communication to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and security protocols.

Qualifications and Tech Proficiency:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Modeller 6+ years.
• Strong understanding of payment processing systems, customer account management, card issuance and other related financial services.
• Proficiency in data modelling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with data warehousing, ELT processes and modern data architecture (lakehouse).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and security standards in the financial industry.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake, Redshift etc
