Job Overview:

As a Technical Steward for our Cloudera and Kafka Streaming platforms, you ensure operational excellence, innovation, and strong collaboration across teams. You are both the trusted guardian and the driver of ongoing improvement—connecting people, processes, and technology to deliver reliable, secure, and cutting-edge data services.

Role Insights:

• Take ownership of the health, security, scalability, licensing, and compliance of our Cloudera and streaming ecosystem, ensuring a reliable and well-governed platform.
• Drive and uphold technical best practices, efficient processes, and high-quality documentation standards across the environment.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and management, acting as a key point of coordination to support organizational objectives and successful delivery.
• Continuously identify opportunities for improvement, champion innovation, and implement enhancements that maximize efficiency and business impact.
• Act as a trusted custodian of the platform, taking responsibility for its performance, reliability, and overall user satisfaction throughout the entire system lifecycle.

What Makes You Unique:

• 5+ years of experience on a similar position.
• Strong experience with the Hadoop stack (Cloudera: HDFS, Hive, Impala, Ranger, Spark, YARN, etc.).
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and related container technologies.
• Experience managing the Data Streaming stack (Kafka, Kafka Connect, connectors, Flink Schema Registry).
• Track record handling upgrades (zero downtime), migrations, lifecycle and license management.
• Experience maintaining and optimizing custom Spark solutions.
• Proficient with CVE (security vulnerability) handling.
• Skilled in Linux administration and troubleshooting, including Bash scripting.
• Programming experience in Java, Python, or Go is a plus.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Open Telemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) (Cloudera: HDFS, Hive, Impala, Ranger, Spark, YARN, etc.).
• Experience with the Confluent ecosystem (Confluent for Kubernetes or Strimzi preferred).
• Excellent cross-functional and stakeholder collaboration, with strong written and verbal English skills.
• Ability to coordinate activities, priorities, and effective communication between all parties.

Nice to Have:

• Automation and IaC skills (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
